Welcome to the Selsey Shantymen!

WE ARE THE SELSEY SHANTYMEN AND WE HOPE WE FIND YOU WELL!

Our BIGGEST gig ever (…so far!)

Here’s an excerpt from the Chichester Festival Theatre’s programme for the Winter season:

Selsey in West Sussex is famous for Selsey Bill, its seafood and fishing fleet, the RNLI Lifeboat station and the rousing sea shanties of The Selsey Shantymen!

The Shantymen have been singing together for eight years and perform across the south of England and in Europe. They are delighted to be performing at the Minerva Theatre for the first time.

Jan 17th 2026 – matinee and evening performances.

Latest news from the Selsey Shantymen

The Selsey Shantymen were brought together in 2018 by Selsey local John Bradley (Sloop), without whom the rousing sounds of sea shanties would not be heard in Selsey. Although not actively singing with the group now, John remains our honorary vice president.
